Appearance of Mires with Corneal Toricity
With high amounts of corneal
toricity the normally round
mires will appear oval since
the radii in the two meridians
are quite different. The
steeper meridian gives a
smaller mire image (narrow
portion of the oval) and the
flatter meridian gives a
larger mire image (long axis
of the oval).
